Houston Light & Power Company (South Texas Project; Units 1 and 2), Docket Nos. 50-498A-499A; Texas Utilities Generating Company (Comanene Peak Steam Electric Station; Units 1 and 2), Doc-ket Nos. 50-445A-446A Dear Chairman Miller and Members of the Board:
The Department of Justice, Nuclear Regulatory Commission Staff and counsel for Central and South West Corporation and Tex-La of Texas Cooperative, Inc., (botn intervenors in Docket Nos. 50-445A-446A), hereby " join in requesting a pretrial con-ference at the Board's earliest convenience to clarify several procedural matters relevant to the pretrial preparation of these parties.
On December 5, 1978, the Board denied Texas Utilities Gen-erating Company's ("TUGCO") November 16, 1978 Motion for partial consolidation of the above captioned matters for hearing, al-though the Board consolidated these matters for " discovery pur-poses." 1/
The Board's subsequent Order of December 14, 1979 sets forth certain obligations (e.g.,
the filing of witness lists, summaries of testimony, exhibits and final briefs) which atorementioned prJries are obligated to meet on April 14, 1980 in connection with the current May 14, 1980 trial date.
There-l fore, a determination is sought as to which matter will be heard l
first or if the Board's December 14, 1979 Order encompasses both proceedings.
1/ Prehearing Conference Order Regarding Issues, Discovery and Consolidation.

In addition, the aforementioned parties also seek a clari-fication of the specific procedures the Board envisions in connection with the filing of summaries of testimony and the designation of trial exhibits.
Respectfully submitted, N
