Dear Mr. Eisenhut:
As a result of discussions held with the NRC Lessons Learned Review Team on February 29, 1980, and telephone conversations on March 21, 1980, Alabama Power Company commits to installing a backup system to the normal instrument air supply for the pressuriser power operated relief valves (PORV).
The design will assure that air is available at all times to operate the PORV's.
Installation of the backup system will be completed by the end of the Unit 1 second refueling outage scheduled to begin in October, 1980.
