Dear Lt. Gov. Scranton:

At our Board Meeting of December 10, 1979, there was a discussion concerning the accident at Three Mile Island and the special problems l'

that faced the indigent and handicapped people who had no private means to leave the area.

The following resolution was passed unanimously by the Board.

RESOLUTION RESOLVED, That the York County Board of Assistance unaninously recommends that disaster evacuation plans for nuclear accidents be required to include adequa te provisions to meet the special needs of the indigent and those otherwise unable to cope in time of crisis because of economic, physical or other handicaps particularly affecting their ability to secure private transportation and/or lodging in advance of actual evacua tion.
