Dear Sir:

South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 IE Bulletin No. 79-28 Bulletin No. 79-28, received December 11, 1979, requested each construction permit holder to submit information regarding the use of NAMC0 Model EA180 stem mounted limit switches at their respective plants by February 5,1980. Houston Lighting & Power Company has informed the various equipment vendors for the South Texas Project of the concern, 1

and is in the process of obtaining the necessary information from them to determine the impact of the problem on the South Texas Project.

However, as the information is not expected to be complete in the near future, HL&P will send the accumulated data to the NRC in the form of i

a progress report at approximately thirty day intervals until the con-cern is fully resolved.
