Dear Mr. President:
At a time when nuclear generated electric power could be used to reduce the impact of the Iranian oil shut-off, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has chosen to stop issuing operating licsh5es~and~construc-tion permits., This-action defies common sense. and ignores the impact of world events on the United States.
I cannot and will not support your reelection unless you take immediate, decisive action to rapidly license the nuclear power plants already constructed.
It is equally important that your administration reduce the uncertainty and long duration involved in receiving all per-mits and licenses for coal and nuclear power electric plants.
