DOCKET NOS. 50-266 AND 50-301 INITIAL RESPONSE TO IE BULLETIN NO.79-01B
~ ENVIRONMENTAL QJALIFICATION OF CLASS IE EQUIPMENT POINT BEACil NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 As directed in IE Bulletin 79-01B, a " master list" has been compiled of all systems required to function under a postulated Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA) or a High Energy Line Break (IIELB) accident.
This list was determined by a detailed review of all pertinent information including the Point Beach Nuclear Plant (PBNP) safety analyses described in the Final Facility Description and Safety Analysis Report (PFDSAR) and the Emergency Operating ?rocedures (EOPs).
Those required systems or components not exposed to adverse environments werr excluded from the list.
The master list, provided as an attachment to this letter, fulfills the requirements of Bulletin 79-OlB, Action Item One.
Action Items Two and Three were unable to be completed due to the massive volume of information requested, the difficulty obtaining some of the informacion, and the unrealistic, in our opinion, time restraints imposed by the Bulletin.
Considerable effort is continuing by our staff and outside consultants to compile the requested information.
This information will be submitted as soon as possible.
In any event, we will provide a status report regarding our efforts within the 90 day period requested in the Bulletin.
