Environmental Radiation Levels - March 20, 1980 To:

John Collins, Deputy Director, NRC/TMI Site

'Ihomas Gerusky, Director, Bureau of Radiation Protection, PA DER l

Analysis of data from background recorder stations and of air samples collected 0 3/20/80 indicate no leak of radioactivity to the environment as a result of the reported leak within the Auxilliary Building.

In addition, 1

the compressed gas sample collected from Wednesday morning 03/19/80 th rough 85 r in our approximately 5:00 P.M. on Thursday 0 3/20/80 was analyzed for K

Las Vegas Laboratory on Friday 03/21/80.

The result reported to me at 7:00 P.M. on Friday was 2312 pCi/m3 This is within the normal range of back-ground sampics and compares favorably with the previous two samples which were collected between February 25 and March 18.

Those results were 26 i 1.9 and 29 + 2.0 pCi/m3 l

CAMMA RATE RECORDER - GOLDSBORO FIRE HALL The chart of the radiation levels as measured by a gamma rate recorder installed at the Goldsboro Fire Hall has been reviewed for the period 10:50 a.m. 03/01/80 through 11:20 a.m. 03/08/80.

The average daily readings are tabulated below.

The average range figures represent the high and low values for the day excluding instantaneous fluctuations which result from power surges, line transients or other electrical causes and which imediately rr. turn to nomal background levels.
