SUBJECT:

THREE MILE ISLAND UNIT 2, REQUEST FOR RELIEF FROM CERTAIN ASME CODE SECTION XI PUMPS AND YALVES IN-SERVICE TESTING REQUIREMENTS The Reactor Systems Branch has reviewed the Three Mile Island submittal requesting relief from ASME Section XI requirements on certain components.

Several check valves in the safety injection system have not been classified pmperly. The following check valves should be reclassified to ASME category AC, with the required leak testing for this category of valve being perfomed to code specifications.
