Proposed Regulatory Guide 1..U, " MEDICAL CERTIFICATION AND MONI'IORING OF PERSCNNEL REQUIRING CPERA'IOR LICENSES" dated February 11, 1977, and reco:Lended approval sucject to the following coment:
a.
A statement should be included in paragraph C, Regulatory Position, to clearly limit the information to be provided on each employee referred for a reactor operator medical exami-nation to that necessary for the designated medical examiner to complete the appropriate form.
'Ihe Comittee characterized this guide as Category 1 -
No backfit.
2.
Proposed Revision 1 of Regulatory Guide 1.115, "PRCTfECTION AGAINST IDW TRAJECIORY 'IURBINE MISSILES" dated February 1,1977, and recommended approval, with the comment that the Turbine Missile Task Force should expedite its work on the remaining aspects of the turbine missile issue.
The Comittee noted that consideration should be given to tne preparation of a regulatory guide addressing other turbines besides the large steam turbines which form a pdt of the main turbine-generator set.
The Committee recommended that the provisions of this guide be effective imediately for all construction permits dccketed after November 15, 1976. For all other applications and operating i
reactors, the Comittee characterized this guide as Category 2 -
Further staff consideration of individual cases reqaired to determine the need for backfitting.

- a..'Ihe guide should be returned for Cc=nittee consideration after expiration of public co=nent period (even if no coments are received).
b.
All NRC personnel with past or current interest in the suoject matter of &is guide should be invited to attend tne Comittee meeting that next discusses this guide, c.
The guide should reference the applicable industry standard from which the x/R ratios were taken.
d.
In Section C, paragraph 3 of the Regulatory Position, duration times should be included for both molded-case and air current breakers.
The Comittee characterized this guide as Camory 1_- IIo backfit for all plants and applications evaluated on the basis of Revision O of this guide; and for all others as Category 2 -
Further staff consideration of individual cases required to determine the neea for backfitting.
