'Ihe Connittee reviewed:
1.
Proposed Regulatory Guide 1.XXX (RS 618-4) " REPORTING SIGNIFICANT

DESIGN AND 00NSTRJCTION DEFICIENCIES", dated June 2,1977, and returned it to the staff for rework and resubnittal taking into account Connittee comments, including:
a.
Appendix A of the proposed guide should be reviewed for appropriate clarification, and internal staff review of' Appendix A should be verified.
b.
The procedures and technical content of the proposed guide should be reviewed for consistency with the requirements of Part 21.
c.
As appropriate, the results of the regional meetings with industry on Part 21 should be factored into the rework of the guide.
2.
Proposed Regulatory Guide 1.XX, "DE3IGN LIMITS AND 14ADING COMBINATIONS EOR CLASS 1 PLATE AND SffELL TYPE COMPONENT SUPPORTS", dated June 14, 1977, from the standpoint of categorization only. This guide was previously reviewed and approved by the Committee on August 31, 1976.
The Committee reaffirmed its previous reconnendation of Category 2 -
Further staff consideration of individua1' cases required in order to determine the need for backfitting.
3.
Draf t Regulatory Guide 1.XXX, " MATERIAL EOR CWCRETE COtTfAINMENTS (Draft 3, dated July 13, 1977)," dated July 27, 1977, and reconnended approval subject to the following connent:

The guide should include some indication of the present NRC views concerning the ASME Section III, Division 2 document and the limitations in our approach of referencing and/or erdorsing portions of Division 2 via regulatory guides.
- 'Ihe Connittee characterized this guide as Category 1 - No backfit.

Regulatory Guide 1.124, " SERVICE LIMITS AND LOADING COMBINATIONS FOR CLASS 1 LINEAR TYPE COMPONENT SUPPORIS,"- (Proposed Revision 1 dated July 15,1977), dated August 3,1977, and reconnended approval subject to the following comment:
a.
Regulatory position C.7 concerning the conbination of loads should be clarified regarding consideration of load time-histories.
The Cocmittee characterized this guide as Catetory 2 - Further staff consideration of individual cases r'equirea in orcer to determine the need for backfitting.
