The Comittee reviewed PROPOSED REGULATORY GUIDES FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF APPENDIX I and recomended approval subject to the following:
a.
In the Introduction to these proposed guides, wording should be included to indicate that alternate models or other options proposed by applicants to. substitute,
for the detailed provisions of the guides will be considered, and may, in fact, be later proposed by the staff as revisions to these guides if later experience and information so warrants.
2.
The Comittee discussed the Request for RRRC review of proposed position - DESIGN LOADING COMBINATIONS AND STRESS LIMITS SEISMIC CATEGORY I, - ASME CLASS 1, 2 AND 3 COMPONENTS AND SUPPORTS and referred it back to the staff for rework and.resubmittal with the following coments:
a.
A chart should be prepared to id1ntify and compare the proposed requirements with exisi.Ing requirements.
b.
Cost estimates should be made of the impact of the proposed requirements on plant design and construction compared to existing requirements.
c.
The explanatory text in the Introduction and Discussion should be significantly expanded and clarified, and the various terms used in the Tables should be clearly defined.
