Dear Dr. Denton:
I hereby endorse the Request for Action sub=itted by Friends of the Earth to the Nuclear Regulatory Com:nission which requests permanent revocation of the Regents of the University of California's Operating License under Docket No. 50-224.
Ccnsidering the Etcheverry Hall Reactor's outdated seismic design, its si:e in a densely populated urban area and the lack of adequate evacua-I tion p;ans in case of a radiation accident, I submit that the Etcheverry Hall reactor poses an unacceptable threat to public healty and safety.
I Accordingly, I give full support to the Request for Action to the
'i.R.C.
filed by Friends of the Earth.
I concur in the request that all re-actor a:tivities under Docket No. 50-224 be halted, all radioactive =aterials a
and wastes be removed f rom the Etcheverry Hall site, and that the reactor operating license be removed by the Nuclear Regulatory Cocaission.
I ask that the Nuclear Regulatory acknowledge its responsibility to the health and safety of the citizens of Berkeley by acting upon this Request for Action.
Nrytrulyyours, l
