SUBJECT:
Biweekly Progress Report - through August 24, 1979, Human Factors Engineering Evaluation of TMI-2 This report covers the status and progress of the HFE for TMI-2 program for the period 7 August through 24 August, 1979.
The report is structured by major tasks and discusses the status of subtasks in terms of the schedule incorporated in the Essex work plan of 13 August.
During the period two visits were made by Essex personnel to TMI and two meetings were held with NRC personnel.
During the two trips to TMI approximately 200 man hours sere spent in the control room observing operations, inspecting the control panels and dis-cussing operational problems with control room operators on duty.
Much of this time was spent in orientation and familiarization of Essex personnel with the TMI-2 plant, systems, and control panels.
In addition to the orientation time spent on-site, an orientation course on TMI was conducted on 8 and 9 August by cog-nizant Essex employees (Mr. Brann and Mr. McGough) for the Essex TMI program staff.
