Special inspections were conducted in August,1979 by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission at the burial sites operated by Nuclear Engineering Company (NECO) in Nevada and Washington. Copies of the reports (4) are enclosed.

The inspections in Nevada were for the purpose of observing radioactive waste shipments arriving by truck and determining compliance with NRC and DOT regulations. The Washington inspection was for the purpose of observing the arrival of the first waste shipment from Three Mile Island Unit 2 since April, 1979.
