C00 aid 'O,:LR TIRE SYSTEM DELUGE ACTIVATION At einroxicately 7:00 p.m. on October 27, 1979, the licensec deterinined that the Fire D= luce Systen in tne "3" Natural Drat't Cooling Tower actuated. All three fire U.nps started auto.T.at ical ly in respunse to the deluge syster: ac tua tion. Subsequently, the "L" fire panp overheated.
The control room annunciation, which should indicate actuation of the deluge system, did not function.
the status light, which should incicate operation of the "B" Diesci Driven Fire Pu:np, also did not properly fanction.
It was irr.adiately deter:nined that tnere was no actual fire.
Further irriesti;ati0n by the licensec revealed that the fire pump overheating was c;e te a c;ol i.g water supply line rupture.
The reasons for the deluge syste:n actaation, anc :na inoperasility of con:rci room indications notec above, are still ancer review.
