The following report is sub.,itted in accordance with paragraph 403 (b)(7) of 10CFR20.
On January 17, 1978 at approxir ately 0615, excessive leak off from the 1A "ake-up Pu,o discharge isolation valve, M'J-V-74A caused a release of gaseous radioactivity which, when averaged over a 24 hour2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br /> pericd er.cceded 500 tires the lirits specified in 10CFR70, 4ppendix B, Table 11 for the isotopes released.
The release consisted of predominantly Xe-133 (P,5$ with the rer'ainder consisting of Xe-135 (15%).
The 24 -hove-eveeJe-cencentration in the -ac+s-of the release was calculated to t'e 3.0?
10' uti/ce, approximately 1000 tires the weighted MPC. A total of 33.3 Curies x
of Xenon were released from the Unit during the incident.
