o AFFIDAVIT OF LOUIS F.

FIKAR My name is' Louis F. Fikar and I am a Vice President of the Texas Utilities Generating Company.

I have been personally involved in discussions. pertaining'to settlement of the NRC proceeding among Central and Southwest Corporation, Houston Lighting and Power Company and the Texas Utilities Company System, of which TUGCO is a part and on behalf of whose operating subsidiaries and other owners TUGCO is the " lead applicant".

)

TUGCO believes, and it is my understanding that Houston Lighting and Power Company and the Central and Southwest Cor-poration also believe, that progress made in settlement dis-cussions relating to the interconnection disputes among them have reached a stage where it can fairly be said that there is agreement in principle.

Although there is no formal agreement among the parties, the agreement in principle could, and we think should, form a basis for future discussions with other parties to these proceedings with the objective of achieving settlemenE"os not just the interconnection dispute but all m'atters at issue in these proceedings.

As to discussions between Texas Power & Light Company, an operating subsidiary of the Texas Utilities Company, and Tex-La Electric Cooperative of Texas, Inc., it is a part of i

my responsibility to be informed of the status of those settle-ment negotiations.

I have reviewed the motion for expedited 8004;33gg,q,
