h #0 af>/ro Federal Register Notice NUCLEAR RD3UIATORY COMMISSION ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACIOR SAFB3UARDS Notice of Proposed Meetings In order to provide advance information regarding proposed meetings of the ACRS Subcommittees and Working Groups, sn:" of the full Committee, the following preliminary schedule reflects the current situation, taking into account additional meetings which have been scheduled and meetings which have been postponed or cancelled since the last list of proposed meetings published November 21,1979 (44 FR 67000). 'Ihose meetings which are definitely scheduled have had, or will have, an individual notice published in the Federal Register approximately 15 days (or nore) prior to the meetirg.

Those Subcommittee and Working Group meetings for which it is anticipated that there will be a portion or all of the meeting open to the public are indicated by an asterisk (*). It is expected that the sessions of the full Committee meeting designated by an asterisk (*) will be open in whole or in part to the public. ACRS full Committee meetings begin at 8:30 a.m. and Subcomittee and Working Group meetings usually begin at 8:30 a.m.

The exact time when items listed on the agenda will be discussed during full Comittee meetings and when Subcommittee and Working Group meetirigs will start will be published prior to each meeting. Information as to whether a meeting has been firmly scheduled, cancelled, or rescheduled, or whether changes have been made in the agenda for the January 1980 ACRS full Committee meeting can be obtained by a prepaid telephone call to the Office of the Executive Director of the Committee (telephone 202/634-3267, ArrN:

The Subcomittees will hold a joint meeting to consider NRC Bulletins and Orders, including information related to the small-break loss of coolant accident. Notice of this meeting was published December 19, 1979.
  • Three Mile Island, Unit-2 Accident Action Plan, January 7,1980, Washington, DC.

Se Subcommittee will continue its discussion of preparation of the Annual Report to Congress on the NRC Reactor Safety Research Program. Notice of this meeting was published November 21, 1979.

  • Procedures and Administration, January 9,1980 (Af ternoon-Tentative), Washington, DC. We Subcommittee will discuss procedures for conduct of ACRS activities includ-ing procedures for strengthening the role of the ACRS in the regulatory process.
  • Surry Nuclear Station, January 23,1980 (Morning), Washington, DC. We StLWit-tee will continue its review of the Surry Station steam generator replacement program.

The Sh-ittee will meet with personnel from NRC's newly formed Office of Analysis and Evaluation of Operational Data to discuss the evaluation of LER information.

  • Metal Components, January 23-24, 1980, Washington, DC (rescheduled from January 16-17, 1980, Oak Ridge, TN). S e Suh - ittee will review the status of unresolved generic items involving pressure vessels, steam generators, and other pressure boundary components in its cognizant area of review. Notice of this meeting was published November 21, 1979.

The Subcommittee will meet with representatives of the NRC Staff to discuss the proposed resolution of A'IWS.

  • Three Mile Island, Unit 1, January 31,1980 (Tentative), Harrisburg, PA. We Subcomittee will review the application of the Metropolitan Edison Company to restart the Three Mile Island, Unit 1, Nuclear Plant.

W e Subcommittee will continue its discussion of preparation of the Annual Report to Congress on the NRC Reactor Safety Research Program.

  • Regulatory Activities, February 6,1980, Washington, DC. The Subcommittee will review regulatory guides and revisions to existing regulatory guides; also, it may discuss pertinent activities which affect the current licensing process and/or reactor operation.
  • General Electric Test Reactor (GETR), February 22, 1980, San Francisco, CA. We Subcomittee will continue its review of the geologic and seismologic aspects of the GETR site.
