Dear Sir:

South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 NRC IE Bulletin No. 79-02, Revision 2 Bulletin No. 79-02, Revision 2, received November 12, 1979, has been reviewed by Houston Lighting & Power Company.

Investigation into the concerns of Items 5 and 6 of this Bulletin indicates that:

1) No expansion anchor bolts have been used in concrete block (masonry) walls for cttaching pipe supports in Seismic Cate-gory 1 systems.
2) No pipe supports with expansion anchor bolts have used struc-tural steel shapes in lieu of base plates for anchoring.

Based upon these results, no further action is necessary.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Very truly yours,

/
