Marvin R..Peterson, IP

SUBJECT:

PROPOSED EXPORT OF SOURCE MATERIAL TO FRG THAT NO LONGER REQUIRES COMMISSIONER REVIEW (XUO8466)

Enclosed for your review are copies of a pending license application, favorable Executive Branch views, and proposed license for the export of 100,000 kilograms of natural uranium in the form of U308 to the FRG for storage. The material will be returned eventually to the U.S. for conversion and enrichment, and then reexported to the FRG for use in the Unterweser Nuclear Power Plant.

Pursuant to NRC's recently revised 10 CFR Part 110 regulations, this type of export no longer requires Commissioner review. Unless we are advised by your office by COB March 26, 1980, of any particular issues which may require further analysis, it is IP': intention to issue a license for the proposed export.
