SNM-1823 Gentlemen:

As we u.scussed with Mr.

Crow yesterday, the following actions which were outlined in your August 7 letter regarding receipt of reactor fuel at the Zimmer site under NRC Materials License No. SNM-1823 have been completed:

1.

CG&E has completed inspection and has accepted jurisdiction of the fuel storage area from the Henry J.

2.

Water hoses on the reactor building refueling floor are valved off and safety tagged, and are now under the control of the shift supervisor.

3.

A waterproof, fire-resistant polyethylene cover, reinforced with nylon webbing has been received and will be used to protect the new fuel from moderation in the spent fuel pool.

4.

An emergency drill, assuming a dropped fuel assembly onto the refuelling floor, was completed yesterday.

5.

The Industrial Security Program provided by the attachment to your August 7 letter is in ef fect ;

however, as we discussed with you, the main access portal is at the southeast corner of the area instead of the southwest corner referenced in part i of the attachment to your August 7 letter.
