This responds to your letter of December 6,1979 pertaining to the type of shotguns used by your guard force.

Based on the site-specific reasons cited in your above referenced letter,

we have determined that the shotguns which are curre.1tly on hand and in use at your Apollo and Parks Township facilities, as described in that letter, are suitable substitutes for those specified in Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 73. Accordingly, your initiative to am your guard force with the specified, substituted shotguns is consistent with the provisions of 10 CFR Part 70.32(e).
