Dear Congresswoman Holtzman:
Your letter of December 6,1979 urged the Commission to respond as quickly as possible to the petition filed by the Union of Concerned Scientists concerning Indian Point, Unit Nos.1, 2 and 3.
The staff's response is due to be presented to the Commission at a public meeting this Tuesday, February 5, and you will be sent a copy of the staff's response at that time.
Prior to presentation of the staff's response, the Comission has scheduled a meeting to hear the views of the Union of Concerned Scientists, the licensee and other commenters. Upon issuance of the staff's decision, the Comission may determine to formally review the decision as provided in 10 CFR 2.206(c) of our regulations.
