TVA performed an ultrasonic inspection of eight nozzles at the ;'atts Bar Nuclear Plant and one nozzle at the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SNP) as a result of nozzle cracking in a French reactor vessel.

Subsequent to the inspection, TVA met with the NRC staff on February 22, 1980. The testing cethods and the nature of the indications found in the Sequoyah and Watts Sar nozzles were satisfactorily explained to the NRC staff at that meeting.

However, TVA agreed to inspect the remaining seven nozzles of the SNP unit 1 pressure vessel.

Since that time TVA has completed ultrasonic inspection of all eight nozzles on the SNP unit 1 pressure vessel. This inspection was witnessed by NRC Region II inspectors W. T. Cottle and P. K. VanDoorn. The results of this inspection and the subsequent analysis conclusively demonstrate the acceptability of all indications in accordance with ASME Section XI acceptance criteria.

Enclosed is a copy of the test report.
