Dear Mr. Ballard:
The LACBWR site is located on the east bank of the Mississippi River at Genoa, in Vernon County, Wisconsin.
The site is at river mile 67f.6, approximately 3300 feet below Lock & Dam No.
8.
At nhis point, the flood plain is 6000 feet wide.
LACBWR was <;onstructed on made land, as is shown on Figure 2.1-1 and Figure 5.1-1 of the LACBWR Environmental Report.
As can be noted on Figure 2.1-2 of the LACBWR En-vironmental Report, Lock & Dam No. 8 is just upstream from the site.
The navigation Dam No. 8 constrains the flow of the Mississippi River during high river flows.
Any effects from the fill utilized to form the site would be observed between the site and the navigation dam.
As can be noted from Figure 2.1-2, there is no development between the Dairyland Power Cooperative property and the Lock & Dam No.
8.
Increased elevation of the river between the site and the dam would, by engineering estimates, be less than 0.2 foot during a 200-year flood, or flow of 235,000 cfs.
This increase _n elevation would not cause any detectable effects.
Also enclosed is a copy of the most recent LACBWR meteorology data as measured at the LACBWR stack during 1979.
