NRC ACCEPTANCE OF AMENDED C. F. BRAUN & COMPANY QA TOPICAL REPORT,
" QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM" TR-21A (AMENDMENT 5)
Your letters of August 3, August 21, and December 26, 1979 transmitted Amendment 5 to the C. F. Braun & Company topical report, TR-21A, " Quality Assurance Program."
Your topical report, through Amendment 4, was previously reviewed and accepted by the NRC for referencing in license applications as indicated in our letter of July 6, 1978. Amendment 5 provides a description of organizational changes, revised responsibilities, and editorial changes.
Based on our review and evaluation of Amendment 5, we find that the criteria in Appendix B to 10 CFR Part 50 are met. Your amended topical report is therefore acceptable, and you may implement it upon your issuance of the amendment.
To use the C. F. Braun & Company quality assurance program in future license applications, applicants need only reference this topical report in Section 17 of the Safety Analysis Report. We do not intend to re' peat our review of this topical report when it is referenced in an application.
Should regulatory criteria or regulations change such that our conclusions about this topical report are invalidated, we will notify you.
You will be given the opportunity to revise and resubmit it should you so desire.
Programmatic changes by C. F. Braun & Company to this topical report are to be submitted to NRC for review prior to implementation.
Organizational changes are to be submitted no later than 30 days af ter announcement.
Please include this letter in Amendment 5 to the topical report and forward 36 copies of the amendment to the NRC.
Your submittal should point out the changes by use of a black bar in the nargin where a change is made, and the amendment number should be adjacent to the bar.
