BOSTON EDISON _ COMPANY PILGRIM NUCLEAR PO'w'ER STATION Summarv of Operations for Januarv, 1980 About 957. power was maintained until 2400 on January 4, 1980 when the unit was shut down for the 1980 refuel outage. The unit was tripped of f the line at 0010 on January 5, 1980.

All the fuel was removed from the vessel in 5 days. All outage work continues on schedule.

REFUELING INFORMATION The following refueling information is included in the >bnthly Report as requested in a letter to Mr. G. C. Andognini dated January IS, 1978:

50-293.

Scheduled date for next Refueling Shutdown: January

Due to their similarity, requests 4, 5, & 6 are responded to collectively.

The fuel, which is presently expected to be loaded during the next scheduled refueling outage, is of the new P8x8R design, consisting of approximately 64 P8DRB282 assemblies and 120 P8DRB265 assemblies. The licensing submittal and proposed Technical Specification changes were submitted on December 12, 1979.

(a) The station is presently licensed to store 2320 spent fuel assemblies.

The actual spent fuel storage capacity is 1770 fuel assemblies at present.

(b) The planned spent fuel storage capacity is 2320 fuel assemblies.

With present spent fuel in storage, the spent fuel pool now has the capa-city to accommodate an additional 1190 fuel assemblies.
