t and Mr. Bill Lake of the NRCr you and I, I am submitting the leak-test data and description of the leak test which was performed in the Tritium Target Container. These data are in the enclosed memor with attachments, addressed to E. Lamb from K. VI. Ha.ff dated November 9,1979.
I would appreciate your earliest consideration and approval of this container as a type B (U) based on the data presented here und in the original submission. This IAEA Certificate of Competent Authority should be issued in accordance with the " Safety Series No. 6r Regulations for the Safe Transport of Radioactive Materials,1973 Revised Edition" published by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, Austria.
I have forwarded six copies of thic request to Mr. Charles E. Mcdonald of NRC for his review and concurrence in accordance with our discussion.
I have referred che Japanese Ministry of Transportation
- to you regarding their need for the experimented data far the thermal test and the nine meter shop tests.
