Dear Mr. Keppler:

Reference (a) requested Commonwealth Edison Company to provide additional information with regard to "the actions taken or planned to assure that the weld in question is sound."

The actions taken are as follows:

Due to subsequent nonconforming conditions found with the material in the piping Section of subassembly RC-1-1, subassembly RC-1-1 has been disposed of by Nonconformance Report (NCR) 070 (Hunter Corporatica) as "Not For Use".

Therefore, the weld in question, branch connection weld RC-216, is no longer in the system installation and requires no further evaluation.

Please address any additional questions that you might have concerning this matter to this office.
