Re: Docket No. STN 50-482 Subj: Loose Spherical Bushings in Corner Lada Sway Struts
Dear Mr. Seidle:
On November 8, 1979, we reported to Mr. Oberg that the spherical bushings prossed into each end of corner Jada sway struts were found to be loose. These sway struts are'used'on several different piping systems throughout the plant, including safety-related piping systems.
Preliminary checking at the site shows that the condition exists in a large number of struts.
At this time we do not know what effect, if any, this condition may have on the functioning of the sway struts.
Further investigation and tests are being conducted by Corner Lada and our A/E to determine if this condition does affect the functioning of the strut and, if so, to what extent.
We will report further on this matter within 60 days.
