Enclosed are seventy (70) copies of CRURP-3, Vol.1, " Energetics and Structural Margin Beyond the Design Base," dated January 1979. This -

document provides technical assessments indicating that HCDA's would be non-energetic as well as information which supports and substantiates the CRBRP Project's position relative to Structural Margin Beyond Design Base loadings when energetic ilCDA's are assufied.

Tlie analysis and supporting scale model experiments that indicate the reactor coolant boundary would accommodate the SMBDB dynamic load requirements without loss of integrity are presented. The responses previously submitted to the f1RC related to this topic will be updated-in a future amendment to the Preliminary Safety Analysis Report (PSAR).
