Expired License 53-16502-01 This refers to the special inspection conducted by Ms. B. Riedlinger of this office en t'ctober 23, 1980 of activities previously authorized by NRC License f.'o. 53-16502-01 and to statenents made during the inspection by you and I's. Estelle Shircra of your staff.
During the inspection it was observed that a nickel-63 source of approximately 20 millicuries with serial number 3314 was possessed without the authorization of a specific license, since !!RC license number 53-16502-01 expired on June 30, 1930.
You and i's. Shiroma stated that the nickel-63 source would be immediately withdrawn frcm use and would be raintained in a storage status until such time as a specific license to use the source is granted.
If our understanding of these planned acticns as described above is not in accordance with your planned corrective actions, please contact this office inrediately.
