This refers to the telephone conversation between Mr. A. Solari and Mr. A. B. Davis of this office on September 25, 1980, regarding the assessment of the internal and external exposure to two research assistants who worked on the phosphorous-32 (P-32) experiment formerly conducted by Dr. George Siegal of your staff.

With regard to the matters discussed, we understand you will:

1.

by October 3, 1980, perform an assessment of the external exposure to the fingers, hands, eyes and whole body of the two research assistants; 2.

by October 3, 1980, perform an assessment. of the uptake of P-32 and the resultant dose commit 2nent to the two research assistants; and 3.

by October 9,1980, provide to this office documentation describing the results of your assessments and your evaluation of the radiation dose to the two research assistants.

If your understanding of your planned action is not in accordance with those described above, please contact this office immediately.
