Dear Sir:
[:
I was disturbed to learn from several of my constituents that there may be weakening of foundation rock at the Limerick
[.
nuclear power plant site as a result of an extended period of 3j construction blasting.
E.
Evidently, in a December 18 ceeting with Philadelphia Electric of ficials, my constituents were advised that the blasting had no adverse effect on either the foundation rock or the proper setting of concrete in the containment structure. However, the
["
study seemed to be conducted solely through Philadelphia Electric.
in I would greatly appreciate your checking into this matter i--
and determining whether the cracks in the foundation rock have been Eu increased by the blasting.
I would appreciate a full report from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on this problem.
I look forward to hearing from you shortly on this request.
With best wishes, 5
h-Si[eelyg I
