SUBJECT:
RADIOLOGICAL EMERGE."CV PLAN FOR 1.10RRIS OPERATION, NEDE-21894, DATED JUNE 1978 Gentlemen:
The subject emergency plan was approved by the Commission in February 1979.
This plan has not been placed in effect as stipulated in our transmittal letter of June 30, 1978, pending compktion of other emergency planning improvements.
The existing emergency plan for Morris Operation, NED0-14506, revised April 1977, has continued in effect.
Work is continuing on the development and preparation of new general emergency and transportation emergency plans.
However, we believe that the approved radiological emergency plan can be placed in effect while this work is underway, rather than to wait for completion of these related plans.
Procedures and instructions for implementation of the subject plan are complete.
Therefore, effective September 1,1979, the subject radiological emergency plan will be in effect at Morris Operation.
Distribution of copies of this plan to appropriate State and local agencies and co-operating services will be completed by that date.
