Dear Mr. Ross:
South Texas Project Units 1 & 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Security Guard Training and Qualification Plan Houston Lighting and Power Company requested by letter on July 3,1979 an extension of the August 19, 1979 deadline for submitting the STP Security Guard Training and Qualification Plan. At that time, an extension to March 1,1980 was requested since "round one" questions regarding the STP Security Plan were expected in August,1979. Since these "round one" questions are now expected in February, 1980, HL&P hereby requests a further extension of the deadline for submitting the Guard Training and Qualification Plan to March 1,1981. This extension will allow ample time for NRC review of the STP Security Plan and thereby facilitate our efforts in writing a more complete Guard Training and Qualification Plan.
