Docket T40s. 50-514 and 50-515

Dear tiembers of the Board:

I am in receipt of a letter dated February 15, 1980, addressed to the Board by Counsel for the Applicant.

Counsel's letter and an attached statement apprise the Board and parties that the proposed Pebble Springs fluclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, has been rescheduled "for the 1990's".

Since this appears to be a significant change in circumstances from those which obtained at the December 19, 1979, Conference of the Parties held in Portland, the Staff wishes to reevaluate the positions and schedules it announced at that Conference.

However, due to the press of other matters, including an upcoming evidentiary hearing before the Appeal Board, Staff Counsel will be unable to consult with appropriate Staff personnel for the next several weeks.

I expect to respond to the letter in question shortly after such consultations are concluded.

Sincerely, 2/M. C R WhWb 1
