As a result of th:. efforts required by Modification Four (4), which directed the B.
contractor to co m nce backfit operations to process, encode, enter data and orovide titied microfiche for the Dccket Files on the attached list, the centiact shall be modified oy increasing the contract ceiling by $800.000.00 the contractor shall proceed throu]h the listed plants only after coordination with the CCTR.
It is anticipated that this backfit production effort will proceed at the rate of one plant every four to six weeks. ' Reference TTN-Wil5)

During the scriod of performance to date (effective date) the contractor i
has been able to surpass original milestones in various instance:
hen this o::urred, it *;as necessary to shift certain amounts of manpower forward to permit the acco.:plishu nt of the continuing document control efforts.
Supportive of this posture is the fact that this effort, while a fixed production contract, requires first of all, the development and installation of a systen followed by the conduct of routine, daily cperations.
Accordingly, the shift in manpower has caused the estimate; for ccntract cmpletion to increase.
To p?rmit the continued daily operations through the original period of cerformance, Section 6 of the contract is amended as indicated belcw.
D.
Related to the aforemer,tioned acceleration of milestenes as well as the backfit requirement, an additional equipment requirement arises. The belew listed equipment is necessary to permit continued performance, and accordin9 y the contractor is directed to acquire this equipment on 1
a lease basis.
Invoicing for this equipment shall be acccmplished only after it is installed and becomes operaticnal in accordance with Section 6A of the contract.

The total funds currently obligated and available for payment under this contract is $12,770,764.00 It is estimated that the amount currently obligated will cover the period of performance from tne effective date of the ccntract through June 2, 1930.
