Pursuant to your telecon with Mr. Richard Cigliotti on September 7, 1979, it is request 2d that the firearms requalification period for individuals scheduled to requalify in September 1979 be extended to October 1979.
License Condition 9.1.C.1 requires the qualification, in accordance with the new Training and Qualifications Plan, of one-quarter of the guard force over successive six-month periods.
CIC intends to accomplish the qualification of all incur bent.;uards during the month of October 1979.
This change, submitted under 10 CT' 71.32(e), will not decrease the effectiveness of our present security plan and is being done to fa-cilitate the transition from the present security training plan to the new plan.
Additionally, it is our understanding that all recualification aspects, including physical e m inations, re ain current throu;h a calendar nonth. Please confirm this understanding.
