NPT IE BULLETIN NO. 79-02, REVISION 2 NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS SALEM GENERATING STATION In response to your letter of November 8, 1979, transmitting NRC IE Bulletin 79-02, Revision 2, which was received on November 13, 1979, the following information is submitted for your review.

The program of examination of concrete anchor bolts undertaken at Salem addressed those anchor bolts installed in structural shapes, as well as those installed in flat base plates.

The methods of examinations were ultrasonic testing to determine embedment depth and torquing of the bolt to verify proper wedge set.

Investigation reveals that no anchor bolts are installed in concrete block walls for safety-related hangers.
