This letter is in response to your letter of October 2,1979, concerning acceptance of Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) training of NRC staff merfers.
At this time, we at Calvert Cliffs are willing to accept this training as meeting the requirements for generic training in radiation safety.
NRC staff members so trained would be required to complete only a short site-spacific indoctrination here at Calvert Cliffs, including training in security, site emergency plan, and industrial safety.
If access is desired to areas requiring respiratory orotection, then additional train-ing in site-specific respiratory protection procedures would be required, followed by a " booth test".
It should be noted that the ORAU course length, content, and documentation seen not to conform completely with the August, 1979 draft of the Regula-tory Guide: " Radiation Protection Training for Light-Water-Cooled Nuclear Power Plant Personnel". Future adjustments may have to be made when this Regulatory Guide is issued.
