Dear Mr. Grier:

NRC IE BULLETIN NO. 79-25 NO. 1 AND 2 UNITS SALEM GENERATING STATION In response to your letter of November 2, 1979, transmitting NRC IE Bulletin 79-25, which was received on November 7, 1979, the following information is submitted for your review.

Pursuant to IE Circular No. 76-02, PSE&G identified that nine (9)

Westinghouse BFD type relays were supplied by our NSSS Supplier in the Liquid Waste Disposal System.

On No. 1 Unit L.W.D.

system the relays were replaced with qualified Struthers-Dunn Type 219-DXBF relays in accordance with DCR No. ED-0009.

This was accomplished on May 5, 1978.

The tj BFD relays on Salem No. 2 Unit were replaced with qualified DUNCO Type 311XEXP relays.

This was accomplished on November 9, 1978 in accordance with ECN 35215.
