San Jose, CA 95125 This is to confirm the meeting requested by the NRC with General Electric Licensing and Turbine Divisions to be held in Bethesda, Maryland on the 9th of January 1980 at 10:30 a.m.
The subject of the meeting will be to discuss the potential for cracking problems associated with General Electric turbines and specifically we wish to discuss the following areas:
1.
Secondary water and steam chemistry and its relationship to the cracking problems.
2.
The experimental anc analytical cases for fracture mechanics analyses includino stress analysis, 3.
Material toughness properties related to determination of K;c from Charpy V-Notch test data.
4.
Materials related factors concerned with crack initiation and growth includ-ing discussion of the British data.
5.
Turbine Operation c.
Overspeed protection methods for controlling overspeed.
b.
Turbine warm-up procedures.
6.
Accident consequences of a turbine disc burst.
All Nuclear Owners of General Electric turbines are being invited to this meeting.
