NRC MONTHLY OPERATING REPORT OPERATING
SUMMARY
- DECEMBER, 1979 UNIT II The unit was shutdown during the first two days of December. On December 2, the unit was returned to power and testing was continuing.
A pressurizer spray valve failure on the 6th of December forced the unit down.
The return to power occurred the next day and escalation to 80% power for testing continued. Condenser hotwell problems caused a trip on December 20.
The unit returned to power on 12-21-79 and testing continued until on the 25th of December, condenser tube failures forced a four day repair outage. On the 29th of December, the unit was returned to power and testing continued. A scheduled outage occurred on 12-30-79 when all reactor coolant pumps were tripped per the startup testing sequence. On 12-31-79, the unit was returned to power and testing has continued throughout the remainder of the month.
