In response to I.E.Bulletin 79-17 revision 1, Alabama Power ommits to conduct nonthly visual examinations as requested in itan 2(a) rev.1 of the Bulletin until ultrasonic examinations required by itan 2(b) are cxxnpleted. 'Ihe additional ultrasonic examinations will be perfonned with-in the next twelve (12) months.
'Ihe number of welds to be visually examined in each systan are identified in the colunn titled " Selected in Accordance w/ Para 2.a" in the attached Table I, sheets 1 through 4.
The number of additional welds to receive ultrasonic examination are identified in the column titled
" Selected in Accordance w/ Para 2.b".
If significant cracking is identified during examinations conducted under itans 2(a) or 2(b), all welds in the affected systan shall be subject to examination and repair considerations.
Alabama Power Ompany cxmmits to provide a written report within 30 days of the date of otxnpletion of the examinations required by Itans 2(b) or 2(c) and a written report within 14 days of ampletion of examinations required by Itan 2(a) if cracks are identified.
