SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE OPERATION:

The plant began and ended the month in cold shutdown.

The outage was required to perform steam generator tube testing and plugging and to perform inspection and repair of pipe hangers and supports.

The Residual Heat Removal piping was returned to operable status rendering the temporary RCS heat removal makeup system no longer necessa ry.

MAJOR SAFETY-RELATED MAINTENANCE:

Work continued on improvement modification to the Plant Security and Fire Protection Systems.

Work continued on the program of inspection and upgrading of pipe hangers and restraints for seismic loadings. Work continued with the survey and upgrading of masonry block wall seismic hangers.

Steam generator tube eddy current testing was conducted in all steam generators in a total of 94 tubes.

Steam generator tubes were plugged (five in "A",

two in "D",

one in "C", and one in "B").

Work began on a design change to provide indication of pressurizer safety valve opening.

LICENSE CHANGES:

Amendment #42, LCR-79-03, LCA-55; Administrative changes to plant and corporate organization (effective December 8, 1979).

MISCELLANEOUS:

Ten security guards emplo);

by a contracted security service at Trojan, one former construction wr.

+r employed by another contractor at Trojan, and two former contracted security guards were arrested and charged with narcotics violations.
