REACTORS Your memorandum (attached) requested that power reactor licensees be notified of the requirement to have methods of quantifying high level accidental radio-activity releases by January 1,1980. This has been done.

As discussed in the September 6th Commissioner's meeting, the licensees have been required to have methods in place for estimating high level gaseous re-leases of radioactivity from plants during accidents by January 1,1980, and to have pemanent high range gaseous effluent monitors installed by January 1, h
