POST OFFICE box 542 READING. PENNsYLVANt A 19603 TELEPHONE 215 - 929 3601 April 28, 1977 GQL 0539 Mr. Ernst Volgenau, Director Office of Inspection and Enforcement U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Ccenission Washington, D. C.

Dear Sir:
Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Units 1 & 2 (TMI-1 & 2)
' Docket No.'s 50-289 & 50-320 Operating License No. DPR-50; CPPR-66 In response to your letter of f.pril k,1977, regarding improved channels of coc=unication between the NRC and nuclear industry workers, please be advised that copies of the notice, enclosed in the subject letter, vill be posted in those places throughout TMI-1 & 2, where NRC Form 3 is currently displayed.
Ecvever, we vould like to point out that experience shows that present practices at our station, pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 19, provides good assurance that e=ployees understand the channels of consunication with NRC officials that are available to them.
In fact, these channels have already been used by our e=ployees/ contract workers at the station. Therefore, although the proposed change to 10 CFR 19 improves the channels of cenmu-nication between nuclear industry workers and NRC officials, we believe that the present requirements are, as experience shows, adequate in informing the workers of the availability of such chandels.
- Sincerely, R. C./ Arnold Vice President RCA:JMC:kl 1583 091
