2-089-13 Director of. Nuclear Reacto'r Regulation ATTN: Mr. J. F. Stolz, Chief Operating Reactor Branch #4 U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D.C. 20555

Subject:

Arkansas Nuclear One-Unit 2 Docket No. 50-368 License No. NPF-6 Proposed Technical Specification (File: 2-1511.1, 2-2040)

Gentlemen:

We wish to withdraw our proposed technical specification changes trans-mitted to you in our letters dated April 17, 1979, and May 18, 1979, from further staff consideration. The proposed changes would have all vad us to operate ANO-2 without fire watches in several safety related areas without intact 3-hour fire barriers until September 1, 1979. Not implementing the subject proposed change will not adversely affect the health and safety of the general public. We will main-tain our fire watches in the subject areas until the fire barriers are upgraded to a 3-hour rating by installing the required fire dampers.

Very truly yours, e

William C anaugh, II WC:M0W:nak 7908290919 ,
