Dear Dr. Grabov:
I have been reviewing my plans for the meetings in Vienna in February. At this time, I have every intention of being there thus breaking my long standing record in this respect.
In preparation for this meeting, I am hard at work on a report covering advances made in.the U.S. since the last symposium and the general outlook here in this f_ield of technology.
I am also working on comments and recommendations for the " Handbook for Developing Countries."
What I don't have, is any information less than a year old on the symposium.
Is there to be.a symposium?. If so, it is already very late. indeed to send out_ calls for papers and to attract the kind of attendance that such a symposium should deserve. Moreover, the previous discussions of the symposium program considered the possibility of invited papers.
It is now already very late to invite papers for presentation the first week in February.
I would appreciate hearing frcm you as quickly as possible concerning th~e present status of plans for this symposium including details of the schedule, so that I can arrange my travel plans.
I must reiterate my previous warnings that adequate planning for meetings must be accomplished in order for technical contributions from overseas countries, like the U.S., to be available in a timely. fashion.
